Notes from Star Command…

My Hitachi Starboard has been a real lifesaver this week. A student of mine had emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix and will be gone until after Thanksgiving break. So, at the end of class each day, I am able to save my work from the Starboard as a pdf (built-in feature of the whiteboard software) and parabola notesupload it to our webpage.  Here are links to some of our recent class notes for Advanced Algebra:

Get well soon, Marley!

  1. Hello,

My name is Harunobu Oyama. I am the designer of StarBoard software based in Cambridge, UK. Michele told me what you are doing and both of us are impressed by the idea of mathcasting! We have just launched SBS version 8, which includes built-in Flash interactive contents, improved intelli-pen, search in Google/Wikipedia, and a lot of more new features. I hope you enjoy using StarBoard.

    Best Regards,

  2. Nice to hear from you, Nobu! I do enjoy using the Starboard, and my students enjoy it too. Our mathcasting is coming along quite nicely this year, and I’ll be using mathcasts next year to teach one section of Pre Calculus/Trigonometry online. I’m looking forward to seeing version 8.

Please say hello to Michele for me. I really enjoyed meeting and working with her last summer at EduComm; she shared some terrific ideas with me. I especially love the “magic paper”.
